“Through my Structured Work Placement at a childcare centre, I gained practical experience“
I am currently completing a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care as part of my VET studies at Woodville High School. I have a strong interest in supporting the development and wellbeing of young children, which has guided my subject selections and career goals.
This year, I am studying English, Mathematics, Legal Studies, Food Technology, Horticulture, and my VET course. Each subject supports my pathway: Food Technology has developed my understanding of nutrition for different age groups, while Legal Studies has helped me understand duty of care and workplace responsibilities.

This nationally accredited qualification is the minimum requirement for employment in the early childhood industry in Australia.
Students will learn to support the implementation of approved learning frameworks, promote children’s well-being, and foster their learning and development. The course covers a range of topics, including child development, health and safety, and effective communication with children, families, and colleagues.
