The Soccer Academy, starting as of 2023, at Woodville High School offers students a unique opportunity of providing additional training opportunities to support young players motivated to reach their potential. This program is aligned to the Health and Physical Education curriculum which offers students a year 7-12 academic pathway.

Registrations for the 2024 Woodville High School Soccer Academy are now open. Registrations close on Friday, 9th June at 4.00pm
Trial Dates at Woodville Rd Soccer Pitch, Woodville High School: Year 7 2024: Friday, June 16th, 9-11am Year 8-12 2024: Friday, June 23rd, 9-11am (please arrive 15 minutes prior to start time to confirm registration)
Upon completion of registration, you will receive an application form to be completed and returned together with a referee statement prior to attending trials.

As part of the curriculum players participate in over 35 hours of content each term. This includes one 90 minute, 70 minute, and 55 minute lesson each week for the duration of the year. The program is underpinned by a culture of high expectations and academic excellence designed to support each player in reaching their full athletic and academic potential.
The student athletes in the program benefit from the school’s outstanding sporting facilities including the state of the art St Clair Recreation Centre used for futsal and our partnership with PEAQ Conditioning to create an individualised and tailored athletic development and strength and conditioning program appropriate to each person’s level of development.
AIM
Our students play in the School Sport South Australia boys and girls competitions at all age levels as well as playing friendlies against other prominent football schools.
PROBATION & STANDARDS OF THE ACADEMY
Here at Woodville High School, we hold our Soccer Academy students to high standards of results and performances across all subject areas ensuring that all of our student-athletes meet appropriate expectations. These are measured across 3 key areas: Academic Behaviour Practical
Academic: student-athletes need to demonstrate a positive attitude in all subjects, punctuality to all lessons (given extreme circumstance), satisfactory work ethic and to meet and complete all work by the given deadline. Behaviour: student-athletes need to demonstrate respect to all staff, peers and school property, as well as display selfless behaviours. Students must make every attempt to follow basic school rules and expectations, including positive role modelling and upholding the school values to a high standard. Our students are to not be receiving any of the following: referrals, internal and/or external suspensions nor have to be questioned by the teacher. Practical: student-athletes need to demonstrate above satisfactory ability for performance and improvements on and off the court. Students must meet the expectations for attendance to all lessons and in being on time, participation in all practical activities at the standard expected, 100% compliance of staff, leadership in setting the standards (and in positive role modelling) and show a positive attitude, as well as willingness to improve. *Removal from the Soccer Academy may result at the discretion of the Program Director.
