“I aim to study Nursing or a Bachelor of Social Work and Disability Management at the University of South Australia, where I can continue developing the skills needed to support vulnerable people in our community.”
I was born in Burundi, East Africa, and moved to Australia in 2021 to access greater educational opportunities. After spending two years at the Adelaide Secondary School of English improving my English language skills, I transitioned to Woodville High School in Year 9.
Currently, I am studying Biology, Mathematics, EAL, PE, Horticulture, and a Certificate III in Individual Support, specialising in aged care and disability. My VET course has given me practical experience and confidence in supporting individuals with mobility, hygiene, and daily tasks, reinforcing my goal to work in healthcare. I plan to continue Biology and EAL in Year 12, along with a short VET course related to health or hospitality.

Both pathways align with my passion for helping people and reflect my strong commitment to supporting those who are most vulnerable in our community.
Through these studies, I hope to deepen my understanding of how to provide care, advocate for individuals, and promote inclusion in all aspects of life.
