Woodville High School was the first high school in South Australia to invest in a School Assistance dog as a part of our support for students wellbeing. Laser belongs to the school but has two staff members who are his handlers. All three were trained in Sydney at the beginning of 2019. Laser is an important part of our school community and is able to detect and support young people in distress and is a wonderful reading companion to other students. When not on duty at the school, he has a wonderful home life with his first handler and her family.
